Dr. Carl Donavon

Carl has completed degrees in Biology (B.Sc.), Biostatistics (M.Sc.), and Statistics (Ph.D) and has substantial analysis experience with:

  • Environmental monitoring and impact assessment,
  • Survey data and customer behaviour,
  • Ecological studies.

Carl's particular statistical specialties are in multivariate analysis, general non-linear and spline modelling methods, statistical programming and simulation. He is also an active statistics researcher with research directed towards:

  • Spline based regression methods and surface approximation,
  • Multivariate analysis incorporating complex nonlinear relationships,
  • Simulation of realistic multivariate systems,
  • Datamining methodologies such as CART and MARS.

Carl has taught University level statistics since 1999 and currently holds a statistics lecturing post in a prominent UK university. He has taught and/or developed courses in:

  • Multivariate statistics
  • Statistical and mathematical computing
  • Ecological modelling
  • Advanced statistical modelling methods
  • Linear programming, optimization
  • Stochastic processes
